Honoring History, Miami Style
MIAMI - Mayor Manny Diaz, Miami's "Developer Mayor," unveiled plans yesterday to build a brand-new resort and spa and condoplex on the current site of the Miami Circle, South Florida's only remaining archeological treasure after the Orange Bowl. Diaz also took the opportunity to announce that a celebrity flag football game will be played at the Circle site to help send off the site in typical Miami "style." Scheduled to play in the Circle game will be local historical luminaries Julia Tuttle, Osceola, Juan Ponce de Leon, Wahoo McDaniel, Henry Flagler, Al Capone, Bebe Rebozo, Flipper, Skipper Chuck, Howard Gary, and Tony Segreto.
